LA: No one is available to castrate Louisiana sex offenders

Source: lailluminator.com 9/8/26

A convicted sex offender from Assumption Parish is believed to be the first person in the U.S. sentenced to undergo surgical castration without their consent, but the lawmaker who pushed for the severe punishment to be made available said it’s unlikely to ever take place.

The state corrections department has also confirmed it’s not currently staffed to handle the procedure.

A Sept. 1 post on the X account of Attorney General Liz Murrill, whose office started the investigation, celebrated Clark’s conviction and sentence.

“Louisiana justice served on another child rapist,” the post reads, followed by emojis of a fleur de lis and a pair of scissors.

Barbaric, unbecoming an enlightened civilization.

I don’t know why this man agreed to anything. He should’ve called the state’s bluff and requested a long costly trial. He might’ve gotten life, but what’s the difference between that and his probability of him living to age 86? With more pushing, the DA likely would’ve taken castration off the table knowing the outcome at trial would be nearly the same. The castration thing is nothing but grandstanding.

LA wants to castrate registrants when the state seems fixated on others genitals, sounds like sex offenses play out in the Pelican State down in ole Baton Rouge. I think they should offer theirs since none of them have any balls or spines, so they can be no balls as well. Snip, snip

Both the 2008 and 2024 laws call for the punishment to be administered “not later than one week prior to the defendant’s release from prison.”

51 plus 35 is 86 years old.

“[Clark] can simply refuse to have it done and [serve] a few more years of his sentence,” Boyd said.

“Cascio said the onus is on the Louisiana Department of Corrections to carry out surgical castration sentences that district attorneys and law enforcement work hard to obtain.
“This is no different than if you have an inmate that has appendicitis and has to have his appendix removed,” he said.”

WOW!!!

There is no parole or early release for this guy so he’ll be at least 86 years old when he gets out, if he doesn’t die first.

Hello midterm elections!!!
